Lawson Hester has concentrated his civil litigation practice for more than 39 years in commercial litigation, products liability, civil rights, insurance law, employment law, and general litigation matters. He has tried more than 150 civil cases to verdict as first-chair trial counsel, maintaining an exceptional success rate of over 96%. His cases have been featured nationally in publications including the National Law Journal, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and Forbes.com.

 

Lawson Hester has defended 68 of Mississippi's 82 counties and numerous municipalities across multiple states. He has represented seventeen Fortune 500 companies in litigation involving medical devices, pharmaceuticals, sporting goods, and commercial disputes. He regularly handles catastrophic loss claims, insurance coverage litigation, and civil rights matters, serving as National Trial Counsel for multiple major insurers.

 

He obtained his B.A. in English and Political Science and his J.D. from the University of Mississippi. Admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, he is a member of the American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and bar associations in Mississippi, Tennessee, and North Carolina. He is a frequent lecturer on trial practice, civil rights, governmental liability, and cross-examination.
